Accra, September 8, 2025 – President John Dramani Mahama will on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, face his first Presidential Media Encounter at The Presidency, scheduled for 8:00 p.m. The session is already generating national buzz as expectations mount over how the President will respond to burning questions on the state of the nation.

According to a statement from the Presidency, the event will give President Mahama a unique platform to engage citizens through the media, highlighting his Resetting Ghana Agenda, key policies and progress on ongoing projects.

This encounter promises to be more than a presidential briefing. Accredited journalists will have the rare opportunity to directly question the President and observers say no subject will be off limits. Likely hot-button issues include:

● Economic hardship and the cedi’s performance on the global stage.

● Job creation and youth unemployment, especially in relation to the promised 24-hour economy policy.

● Corruption and accountability, with critics demanding clarity on measures to plug financial leakages.

● Education and healthcare, as citizens push for improvements in quality and accessibility.

● Infrastructure and energy supply, key drivers of economic growth.

Illegal mining (galamsey) and its related issues among others.

Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, assured that the Presidency expects “a productive and engaging session with the media.” Participation will be strictly by accreditation.

With the nation’s eyes fixed on Jubilee House, Wednesday’s encounter could set the tone for how Ghanaians judge Mahama’s leadership in the months ahead.
