“Use DACF Wisely and 2028 Victory Will Be Inevitable” – Magajiya Urges MMDAs

The Greater Accra Regional Zongo Caucus Magajiya, Hajia Lami Ibrahim, has made a clarion call all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to ensure that the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) is judiciously utilized from 2025 to 2028 to bring visible and equitable development to communities, especially the Zongos.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Hajia Lami emphasized that the effective and transparent use of the DACF is crucial to deepening the trust and loyalty of the Ghanaian people – particularly those in underserved areas.
“The DACF is a vital national resource. If it is used wisely to address our pressing needs in education, healthcare, sanitation and job creation, the NDC’s victory in 2028 and beyond will be inevitable,” she stated.
Hajia Lami praised the renewed commitment of President John Dramani Mahama to inclusive governance but stressed that communities are expecting more than promises – they are looking for results.
“Our Zongo communities are watching. The people demand accountability, equity and real development. Once they see these changes in their daily lives, their confidence in the NDC government will keep growing stronger.”
She further urged all metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies to align their local development plans with the needs of the people and to ensure that every cedi of the DACF goes to where it is most needed.
Her passionate statement concluded with a call to action:
“Deliver for the people. Make the DACF work for every Ghanaian and victory in 2028 will be a walkover.”
The message has since sparked online conversations among party faithful and civil society actors, with hashtags like #NDCDelivers, #ZongoDevelopmentNow and #AccountabilityMatters gaining traction on social media.
As the NDC consolidates its governance agenda, grassroots voices like that of Hajia Lami Ibrahim are reinforcing the urgency for performance-driven leadership across the board.
