Mahama Unveils Plans for Two New Universities in Bono East

President John Dramani Mahama has unveiled plans to establish two new tertiary institutions in the Bono East Region, underscoring his administration’s commitment to expanding access to quality education and enhancing technical and healthcare training.
During a thank-you tour of the region, President Mahama revealed that a technical university will be constructed in Techiman, while a University of Health and Life Sciences will be enhanced in Kintampo.
“A site has already been selected at Forikrom for the Technical University,” President Mahama disclosed, highlighting the institution’s pivotal role in equipping young people with technical and vocational skills to drive Ghana’s industrialization agenda and create sustainable jobs. The University of Health and Life Sciences in Kintampo is expected to bolster healthcare education and help address the shortage of medical professionals in the country.
“We believe that technical education is essential for industrial growth and job creation,” President Mahama emphasized. “With these institutions, we aim to bridge the skills gap and create opportunities for the youth of this region.”
Factually, by establishing these tertiary institutions, President Mahama’s administration seeks to foster a new generation of skilled professionals, entrepreneurs, and innovators who can contribute to Ghana’s socio-economic development.
