Ntim-Fordjour Dragged Before CID Over GH₵600,000 Contract Fraud

A Ghanaian businessman, Sylvester Agyen, has petitioned the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, alleging that he was defrauded of GH₵600,000 by three individuals, including Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin South Constituency, John Ntim-Fordjour.

According to the petition, dated February 24, 2025, Agyen claims that Ntim-Fordjour, along with Edmond Oppong-Peprah and Eric Yeboah, promised to secure a government contract for him to construct an AstroTurf pitch in the Central Region in exchange for a fee.

Believing the offer to be genuine, Agyen transferred the full amount to the individuals involved.

However, several months passed without any progress or the issuance of a formal contract. Agyen stated in his petition, “After three months of waiting, I made enquiries in the Central Region and was shocked to discover that no such contract existed.”

Following this revelation, Agyen confronted the individuals, who reportedly agreed to refund the money.

However, only GH₵400,000 has been reimbursed to date, leaving an outstanding balance of GH₵200,000. Agyen lamented,

“I have made several efforts to contact them, but they have refused to answer my calls or respond to my messages. They have even blocked me, making it extremely difficult to retrieve the rest of my money.”

Agyen is now calling on the CID to investigate the matter and compel the alleged perpetrators to refund the remaining amount. Efforts to reach the individuals named in the petition for comment have so far been unsuccessful.
