President Mahama Visits VP Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang on Mother’s Day

In a heartwarming display of camaraderie and respect, President John Dramani Mahama paid a special visit to Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang in the United Kingdom on today’s celebration of Mother’s Day, as she recuperates from a recent illness.

President John Dramami mahama took to his Facebook page to share a poignant photo of the visit, expressing his admiration and appreciation for the Vice President’s strength and dedication.

“Happy Mother’s Day to my Vice President, @njoagyemang, whom I had the pleasure of visiting earlier this morning,” President Mahama wrote. “She is taking a deserved rest after recovering from illness and looking forward to resuming her duties soon.” The President extended warm wishes to all Ghanaian mothers, adding, “To her and all Ghanaian mothers, I say Happy Mother’s Day.”

Vice President Opoku-Agyemang had been reported to have fallen ill on March 28, 2025, and was subsequently hospitalized at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) the following day. After thorough evaluation, medical experts advised her to seek further treatment abroad as a precautionary measure to ensure a full recovery.

Acting on the recommendation of her doctors, the Vice President began a three-week medical leave on April 7, 2025, prioritizing her overall well-being and recovery.

President John mahama’s visit and heartfelt message serve as a prove to the strong bond between the two leaders and the high esteem in which they hold each other.

Indeed, as we celebrates Mother’s Day today, President Mahama’s gesture underscores the importance of acknowledging and honoring the sacrifices and contributions of mothers across the country.
