Palestinian Ambassador to Ghana Calls for Immediate Intervention to End Menace
The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Ghana, Mr Abdulfattah Ahmed Khali Alsattari, has expressed worry about ongoing violence between Palestine and Israel and has called for the immediate implementation of world policies to address the menace.
Describing the situation as heartbreaking, he bemoaned the needless loss of innocent lives as a result of the hostilities.
Mr Alsattari said this at a press conference in Accra on the topic “The Israeli Crimes Against the Palestinians Must Stop”. The event was aimed to inform the public on the humanitarian situation and developments concerning the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
The Ambassador said that there would be no peace and unity in the Middle East unless the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was addressed.
He noted that Palestinians living in Gaza could no longer sleep because of the noise form Israeli bombs dropping on their cities.
Commenting on the cause of the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas, Mr Alsattari mentioned that the Palestinian Government had planned to organized an election on May 22, and that Palestinians living in Arab East Jerusalem were supposed to part-take in it, but the Israeli Government did not want them.
He also cited Israelis’ grabbing of Palestinians’ lands for themselves as one of the courses.
Mr Alsattari lauded the government of Ghana for their continuous support for the people of Palestine and hope for the total restoration of peace in both countries.
He revealed that both Ghana and the African Union (AU) solidarize with the people of Palestine in their course for just society and self-determination.
The current happening in Palestine was a violation of international laws by Israel.
