You Promised Industrialization Not Taxation – Ghanaians Roast Prez Akuffo-Addo

Ghanaians across the country could not bear the brunt of increasing suffering the current government has imposed on the people.

On Tuesday, many business owners and artisans have taken the President Akuffo-Addo to the cleaness for not honoring the promises he made during his campaigns in 2016 and 2020 elections.

They were saddened by the u-turn of the President on assertion that he was “moving the country from taxation to industrialization.

Notwithstanding, the Akuffo-Addo led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for the past five year introduced over 12 new taxes on Ghanaians.

This according to their views, those taxes showed a clear deceptive and intellectual dishonesty by the President just to get more votes.

It was recalled that during the 2016 campaign, the then candidate Akuffo-Addo promised Ghanaian voters that he would move the country from taxation to industrialization when voted to become President.

Six years down the line, the president now on the neck of poor Ghanaians to pay heavy taxes including the infamous E-levy.

This, according to Ghanaian workers and business owners who spoke with thealhajj.com in an interview on last Tuesday in Accra, described President Akuffo-Addo’s promises as pure deceitful and lies just to become a president at all cost.

The business communities have complained bitterly about the harsh economic conditions the Akuffo-Addo led NPP has plugged the whole country into economic abyss due to their imcompetence in the management of the country’s economy.

For them, Akuffo Addo alone cannot be blamed for the mess without mentioning of the so-called economic messiah, Dr. Mahmoudu Bawamia who claimed to have arrested the cedi and the keys handed to Inspector General of Police (IGP).

The Vice President, Dr. Mahmoudu Bawumia’s sudden move from economic management to digitization shows the government has lost focus and directions, they opined.

“Just yesterday, the world Bank revealed how bad Ghana’s economy looks like and urged government to be bold and tell its citizens the truth”, a trader stated.

Another person said “we are appalled by the abysmal, incompetent mismanagement of the economy and this will be our last time to believe in corrupt and lying party like the NPP”.
