Yorubas Joined Ghanaians To Show Mahama Love At Cowlane In Accra

Former President Mahama over the weekend attended the Final Adua of the Late Yoruba Imam, Sheik Abubakar Diko.

Sheik Diko, who passed on last week was the Imam of the James town Mosque as well as the Atukpai Mosque. He became the Imam of the Cowlane mosque much later in his service as a humble and dedicated leader.

The occasion also saw the coronation of a new Yoruba Chief Imam, Mustapha Diko by the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu ro succeed the late Imam.

In attendance to support the former president at the program were Hon Nii Lante Vanderpuye, Hon. Dr Mustapha Ahmed, Alhaji Mohammed Cole Younger, Alhaji Yaya Kundo and Horoya Ali.

His Excellency the former President took his turn to express his personal admiration for the late Abubakar Diko for his dedicated leadership. He prayed and hoped that, same leaderehip qualities would be emulated by the newly installed Yoruba Chief Imam.

As usual, the presence of the former president drew many people from all walks of life to catch a glimpse of him. I personally witnessed an interesting scene which only revealed the indistinguishable charism of former President John Mahama as people, young and old had to rise to cheer him up on his arrival.

In his suplications, the National Chief Imam prayed for the peace of this country and also wished President Mahama well in all his endeavors.
