NDC Ready For Your Fake Soldiers And Vigilante Groups – NEC Member Tells Akufo Addo

The National Executive Committee(NEC) member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhahi Sherif Abdul-Nasiru has warned the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its vigilante group of interfering in future elections and urged the leadership and members of the NDC to focus on safeguarding the democracy and future elections of the country.

He said the current political set up would not help the young democratic system been practice in the country.

Alhaji Sherif explained that electoral fraud and brutalizing of electorates would continue to be the order of the day if NDC continue to rely on the security agencies.

According to the NDC kingpin, electoral fraud and violence at polling stations would continue to be the order of the day if the party do not ensure guenuine security personnel are deployed.

Additionally, as part of their plans to hold on to power, Alhaji Sherif has alleged that the State security agencies have been packed with party foot soldiers and vigilante boys to do the bidding of the NPP to remain in power.

According to him, gun shot, maiming of innocent electorates, ballot staffing box and snatching have been part of the well orchestrated plans by the ruling NPP and its agents to get brute force victory.

Speaking to thealhajj.com in Accra last Monday, Alhaji Sharif Abdul-Nasiru urged the leadership of the NDC to wake up from their slumber and face the storm aheard.

The NEC member called on the party leadership to move the entire headquarters to Assin North constituency ahead of the by-election.

“The time has come for us to show that we are not women and cowards, we will face any vigilante or fake soldier to ensure free and fair elections are held”, he added.

For him, the president can send the entire Ghana army on Election Day, but the NDC must ensure free and free elections are held in any part of the country.

He warned that the Assin North by-election would not tolerate any lawlessness from the governing NPP.

“We are also ready to open fire when they open fire on us, they can’t continue to put the whole country in flames and go scort free, then they got it all wrong this time around”, he warned.

He continued that, “the NDC was born out of revolution, we are not afraid of any kind of trouble makers, we will deal with whoever tries to mare our young democracy, not even the old man’s sponsored vigilante groups”.
