The Israeli government as usual continues to flex its muscle with its diplomatic heckling on foreign diplomats especially officials from Africa.
The disrespect towards African diplomats traveling to Israel for official duty reached its peak.
Ghanaian officials have just received the share of unpleasant diplomatic treatment at the Ben Guruon International Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel.
These Ghanaian officials had arrived at the airport only to be subjected to diplomatic brawl with the Israeli officials.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ghana described the situation as condemnable, provocative and unacceptable.
It’s said the act could lead to destroy the over six decades of good relationship between the two countries.
According to the statement, 7 Ghanaian travelers to Israel were detained at the Ben Gurion International Airport without justification.
Four of whom were Members of Parliamentary delegation who were there to take part in the ongoing Annual International Cybersecurity Conference in Tel Aviv.
The rest of the 3 have since been deported and have safely arrived in Ghana.
The 4 Members of Parliamentary delegation, according to the statement, were only released after five hours of streanous diplomatic inttervention.
It continues that “the government of Ghana considers the action of the Israeli authorities as unfair targeting Ghanaian travelers and accordingly conveys its strong reservations against the inhumane treatment of our citizens at the Gurion International Airport.
The statement signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Ablakwa Okudzeto revealed that, Ghana government is considering what it termed as “appropriate reciprocal action” against the Israelis.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned the officials of the Israeli embassy in Accra to convey the government’s displeasure by their authorities.
