National Network for Youth with Disability Launched

The National Youth Authority (NYA) in collaboration with Sight Savers has launched a National Network for Youth with Disability in Accra on Thursday.

The launch brought together personalities from various organizations across the country to throw their support behind the newly launched organization.

Launching the network, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Alhaji Inisab Mahama representing his boss Mr. Osman Ayariga reiterated the commitment of his Chief Executive Officer in making sure people with disabilities are giving the necessary support and attention in the country.

For him, the launch of the network was timely as the United Nations (UN) promotes inclusiveness for all irrespective of the persons conditions.

“Around the world, young people with disabilities still represent the clearest test of the UN’s commitment to “leave No One Behind.”

The Country Director of Sight Savers, Mr. David Agyemang also indicated that young persons with disabilities across the country continue to face barriers in education, employment, digital access, political participation and social inclusiveness.

He added that “the voices, talents, and leadership potential have never been more crucial to national development”.
