NDC/USA Zongo Caucus Condemns Alleged Assault on 7 Year Old Girl
The Zongo Caucus Cordinator of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) – USA, Alhaji Abdul – Salam Zebah has condemned the act of violence against a 7 year old Amina Abdul Fatawu by her guardian whose name was given as Aisha at Pigfarm, a suburb of Greater Accra in the Ayawaso Central Municipality.
Alhaji Abdul – Salam Zebah also commended the area youth who have taken the matter up and ensuring that the perpetrator is dealt with according to the laws of the country.
In an interview with thealhajjnews.com, Alhaji Abdul – Salam expressed shock to have learnt that some so-called opinion leaders have gone behind to secure bail for the accused person.
According to him, his outfit would get involved in the case to ensure justice is served and stiffer punishment is meted out to the perpetrator to serve as deterrent to others.
Little Amina Abdul Fatawu is battling severe burns at her private genitals after her guardian identified as Aisha, allegedly pressed a heated spoon against her private parts as a punishment for bedwetting.
A concerned community leader reportedly lodged a complaint at the kotobabi police station, leading to the arrest of the alleged perpetrator, Aisha.
However, Aisha was later released following pressure from Amina’s father and grandmother, who insisted the matter be settled at home.
The action has sparked public outrage calling on the authorities to do the right thing by bringing the perpetrator to book.
