The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has assured the travelling public and airline operators of uninterrupted air traffic services despite a looming strike by members of the Ghana Air Traffic Safety Electronics Association (GhATSEA).
In a press release dated Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the Authority said it has activated comprehensive contingency measures to ensure the continued safe, reliable and secure provision of air traffic services across the Accra Flight Information Region (FIR).
GhATSEA had earlier served notice of a proposed industrial action scheduled for Thursday, October 30, 2025. In response, GCAA disclosed that it has developed and implemented a CNS/ATM Systems Contingency Plan to maintain operational continuity and prevent disruptions to both domestic and international flight operations.
According to the Authority, the plan includes detailed operational procedures, designated response teams, and strong coordination mechanisms to safeguard aviation safety and service delivery during the strike period.
The GCAA further appealed to all stakeholders and the travelling public to remain calm and confident in the measures taken, emphasizing its unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of air navigation service delivery and ensuring the safety and security of all flights within Ghana’s airspace.
It also reiterated its commitment to staff welfare and continuous human capacity development within the aviation sector.
The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, established in 1986, regulates air transport operations in Ghana and provides air navigation services within the Accra Flight Information Region (FIR).
