The Volta Regional Thank You Tour by Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is currently underway, with the Ketu South Constituency serving as the first stop of the day’s visit across six constituencies.

The tour seeks to express gratitude to party executives, cadres, and grassroots members for their dedication and contributions to the NDC’s 2024 election victory.

During the engagement in Ketu South, Hon. Asiedu Nketiah interacted with constituency leaders and listened to their concerns. Constituency Chairman Bright Kumordzi highlighted the ongoing struggles faced by residents in accessing school placements and public appointments despite the constituency’s longstanding loyalty to the NDC.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ketu South, Hon. Nicholas Worcklachie, commended the government for ongoing development projects and reiterated the need to split the constituency to enhance local governance and development — a pledge previously made by President John Dramani Mahama.

In response, Hon. Asiedu Nketiah assured constituents of the party’s commitment to addressing their needs, particularly the water challenges affecting several communities.

“If we cannot do anything at all, every community must get common water to drink in our stronghold in Ketu South. I shall champion that in our government to resolve water challenges in Ketu South,” he assured.

He further addressed concerns about the constituency’s historical marginalization under the previous administration, saying:

“You have been treated as foreigners in your own land by the NPP government. We shall put measures in place to correct that going forward through the Electoral Commission.”

Hon. Asiedu Nketiah reaffirmed the NDC’s commitment to equitable development and inclusivity, emphasizing that the party’s next government would ensure fairness and improved living standards for the people of Ketu South and the Volta Region at large.
