Former GRA Boss, two other High-Ranking Officials Arrested in SML Scandal Investigation

The Office of the Special Prosecutor has taken into custody three former top officials of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), including the immediate past Commissioner-General, Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, amidst an ongoing probe into the Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) scandal.
Dr. Isaac Crentsil and Christian Tetteh Sottie, both former high-ranking officials of the revenue authority, are also being held. The arrests are linked to allegations of corruption and corruption-related offenses in connection with contracts between the GRA and SML for revenue assurance services.
The investigation seeks to verify SML’s claims that its services have resulted in significant revenue savings for the nation. This development comes amid growing scrutiny over the contentious SML deal, which has raised concerns about potential financial impropriety and irregularities in contract execution.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor is working to uncover the truth behind these allegations and ensure accountability.
