Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie Welcomes Russian Team to Boost Tourism Ties

A three-member delegation from the Russian Federation, led by Mr. Viktor Kolikov, has paid a courtesy call on Ghana’s Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, to explore potential areas of collaboration in the tourism sector.
The visit, which took place on Monday, April 28, 2025, at the Ministry’s office, aimed to strengthen ties between Ghana and Russia, particularly in tourism promotion, travel exchange programmes, and joint destination marketing initiatives.
Comprising private sector practitioners, the delegation expressed strong interest in partnering with Ghana’s tourism industry stakeholders to enhance mutual growth. They commended Ghana’s emerging global appeal as a cultural and heritage tourism hub and emphasized the possibility of increasing Russian tourist visits through bilateral cooperation and targeted marketing campaigns.
Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, in welcoming the delegation, reiterated Ghana’s commitment to strategic partnerships that promote international tourism and cultural exchange. She also outlined the Ministry’s ongoing initiatives to diversify Ghana’s tourism offerings, noting the need for investment in infrastructure and digital promotion to enhance the sector’s competitiveness.
Also present at the meeting was Mr. Divine K. Owusu-Ansah, Director for Culture and Creative Arts at the Ministry, who underscored the importance of creative industry collaborations as part of Ghana’s tourism strategy.
The visit marks a positive step toward deepening Ghana-Russia relations in tourism and cultural diplomacy.
