NIB Operatives Storm Ntim Fordjour’s Residence in High-Stakes Arrest Attempt

Tensions flared outside Reverend Ntim Fordjour’s residence on April 9, 2025, as National Investigations Bureau (NIB) operatives arrived to serve an arrest warrant, sparking a standoff.

The Ranking Member of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee refused to cooperate, fueling the controversy.

Reverend Fordjour had alleged that two aircraft landing in Ghana were involved in money laundering and illicit drug trafficking, prompting calls for investigation. However, Government Spokesperson Felix Kwakye-Ofosu refuted the claims, citing minor technical faults and legitimate reasons for the aircraft’s landing.

Justin Kodua Frimpong, General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), took to Facebook, saying,

“N.I.B is currently at Hon. Ntim Fordjour’s residence to arrest him.”

Henry Nana Boakye, National Organizer of the NPP, corroborated Frimpong’s post, highlighting growing tension between the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the NPP.

The development has sparked intense debate, with some security analysts and political figures calling for Reverend Fordjour’s arrest for further interrogation.

The situation remains fluid, with potential implications for Ghana’s political landscape.
