Roman Catholic Joins Galamsey Demo

As part of effort to stop illegal mining operation popularly know as galamsey, the roman catholic archdiose joined civil society group in a demonstration to call on government to address illegal mining in the country.
The demonstration was organized in Accra with worshipers and members of roman catholic church as well as crusader of galamsey supported by police men who followed them through out the demonstration that ended at the holy trinity cathedral near the flag staff house.
In his address an SVD of the roman catholic church Rev Godwin fiawoyi call on the government to take further action to protect our water bodies and a band on galamsey operation he also called worshipers to pray to God so that the galamsey problem will be solve everlastingly.
Also the crusaders against galamsey who were part of the demonstration led by chief crusader Emmanuel Wilson Jnr. called on government to put a total band on many activities in the country and send soldiers who has been called to protect our water bodies back to barracks as their president cannot stop galamsey operation in the country.
The demonstration processing was held on 11th October 2024, was attended by a 1,000 people who walk through some of the principal street in Accra.
