Nima Youth Rise Against Violence Indicipline, Vow To Root Out Criminals

A group calling itself Concern Nima Youth and Opinion Leaders has vowed to root out all kinds of criminals and violence extremists in the area.

At a forum organized by the said group on Tuesday held at the Nima CDR in Accra, the leader of the group, Awalu “Angulu” appealed to the various youth leaders from different communities to mass up against any person engage in nefarious activities within their neighborhood.

Some chiefs and Imams who were present also spoke against increasing number of ghettos and bases as a basis for various crimes in Nima and its environs.

For them, some of these ghettos and bases breed criminals who engage in all kinds of social vices.

They called for the immediate re-introduction of “Neighbourhood Watch Dog” to help the police weed the Municipality of any criminal activities.

The Nima Divisional Police Commander, District police commander ACP Abraham Akwei pledged his support to ensure maximum security in the Municipality.

He reiterated the need for the reintroduction of community watch dog to beef up policing in the areas.

The PRO of Council of Zongo chiefs who doubles as the chief of Wangara community, Alhaji Imoro Baba Issah urged the youth to unite against violence and redeem the name of Nima.

Other organisers present were Awudu Zinga, Panyin and Smaila Horoya Ali.
