Nana Addo Will Soon Be Known As The Most Shameless President Ever – Ako Gunn

COMMISSIONING OF THE ACCRA URBAN TRANSPORT PROJECT – POKUASE INTERCHANGE – TODAY (9TH JULY 2021)

In the run up to the 2020 general elections, the two main ‘combatants’: NDC and NPP both laid claim to the project and it generated some needless controversy whose answer was by the roadside from Kwabenya to the Pokuase interchange!

The relatively big signboard by the roadside had the name of the €89.5 million project as appropriately captured in the headline above (Accra Urban Transport Project – Pokuase Interchange), the name of the foreign contractor executing the project (Zhongmei Engineering Group Limited), the African Development Bank (AfDB) was the main funding agency (95%) with Government of Ghana adding the 5%!

The project design and sourcing of the fund from AfDB was done and completed in 2016 and the project was to start in January 2017 and political power changed hands. The Pokuase town roads and those that could help decongest where the interchange was to be constructed started before the interchange itself.

Let’s all eschew the politics of deceit and deliberate misinformation in these days of technology.
